The U.S. military's legal canon is the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). If you are a member of the armed forces, it establishes laws that you must follow. Over 100 distinct punitive offences are listed in the UCMJ, each with a maximum penalty and some with a mandatory minimum penalty.

The UCMJ's official handbook is called the Manual for Courts-Martial. It explains the elements that must be present in order to convict a soldier of a crime, as well as the various sentencing options available if a soldier is found guilty. For service members, the manual is free to download.
