The drug is available in the form of generic and brand names, including Viagra. Since its approval by the FDA in 1998, sildenafil has been used to treat male erectile dysfunction and pulmonary arterial hypertension in millions of men worldwide. As the first PDE5 inhibitor to reach the market, sildenafil has a long track record and has undergone a huge number of clinical trials.

Sildenafil citrate

Sildenafil citrate is a nitrate

To compare sildenafil citrate and NCX 911, they used a cell-free system. In this study, a 96-well cell-free plate was prepared with the two medications and a fluorescent dye, DAF-2. The plates were placed in the dark and the fluorescent dye was measured using a spectrofluorimeter at 494 nm.
