This Friday, the 2K and NBA 2K development teams will release NBA 2K22 Season 7. Like the other seasons, the new season will feature new content for MyTeam as well as The City and The Neighborhood. Still, it's too early to look to the future, not just season 7. Thanks to a tweet from the NBA 2K social team, we now know when to expect information on the next installment of the title: NBA 2K23

Today, the NBA and 2K MT Sports confirmed via Twitter that the NBA Summer League, which takes place shortly after the NBA draft, will return for another year. However, this year the league will have a new name.

In 2022, the track featuring all 30 NBA teams will be called the NBA 2K23 Summer League. This is thanks to a new partnership agreement between the gaming franchise and the association.

In the same tweet, the league and NBA 2K confirmed that the first official information about NBA 2K23 will be released in July. That month was traditionally the period when 2K released the first info of its annual release, and it's been a while now. On July 14 last year, 2K Sports unveiled the cover of NBA 2K22 and confirmed it would be coming to older and modern consoles two months later in September. In 2020, 2K released covers of old and current games in early July.

2K did not specify when the first information about NBA 2K23 would be released in July. When the announcement does happen, it will almost certainly include a release date, version, console info, and who will be on the cover of 2K23. The cover of NBA 2K22 features Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic.
