The Problem

BARC is a research centre of several disciplines with the biggest infrastructure for advanced research and development including the total fields of nuclear science, chemical engineering, material sciences, metallurgy, electronic instrumentation, biology and medicine, supercomputing, high-energy physics and plasma physics, and also research for India’s nuclear program and associated areas.

The Application

We were entrusted with providing complete waterproofing solutions for Residential Staff Quarters of about 2 lacs sq ft, from concept to completion.

Water ingress would have been disastrous for the project.

The problems tackled by us were

• Sheer Scope and complexity
• Very challenging site conditions
• Target completion

Conclusion

We installed the robust and comprehensive waterproofing solution on the terraces, external walls, parapets, and bathrooms of the buildings.

Elastomeric acrylic crack filler was used to fill cracks with a combination of products including polymer modified acrylic coating and heat-insulating, anti-carbonation coating was used for the residential staff quarters in BARC providing a protection and filtration layer against water.
