You can use LED spotlights as a versatile light source in every room in your home. When you start planning your lighting, here you will get effective tips for planning perfect lighting with LED spotlights.

Which LED spotlight should I use?
For each room and area in the home, there are different requirements for lighting. Depending on the activities and tasks taking place in the area, you need to carefully consider the type of lighting that best suits the space. The good news is that only two LED spotlights can be used throughout the house:

LED spotlight for warm white lighting
We provide our own warm white Loxone LED spotlights for everyday use

LED spotlight
For colored lighting, we developed our own Loxone RGBW LED spotlight.

Where should I use which spotlight?
There are two rules to keep in mind:

  1. Wherever a lot of lighting is needed, such as when working in the kitchen or home office, use LED spotlights to emit warm white light. It focuses the light on one point.
  2. Where you want stylish lighting, such as in ceilings, walls, furniture ... use LED spotlights RGBW. It provides scattered light and spreads throughout the room.

This is an example floor plan. We placed warm white LED spotlights (marked yellow) in the kitchen, and RGBW LED spotlights (marked red) in the living area for colored and ambient lighting.

How many spotlights do I need? How much space should there be between them?
Measure your space and keep in mind the following lighting rules:

The beam of the warm white LED dot should always overlap the next beam by a third. The picture below assumes that the room is approximately 98 inches tall and the spacing between the LED light points is 59 inches in order to use enough light for perfect lighting.

To save energy, combine an LED spotlight with a Loxone RGBW 24V dimmer. Each channel can operate 8 LED point light sources WW.

How is it used in colored spotlights, ie RGBW LED spotlights?
Same: We recommend a 59-inch spacing between LED spotlights.

In contrast to warm white light spots, LED Spots RGBW do not have a directional light cone, but rather diffuse light for ambient lighting. Perfectly matched with our Loxone RGBW 24V dimmer. Each dimmer can operate 8 spotlights.

If there is a fan, where should I place the LED spotlight?
Avoid any light within the running diameter of the fan blades. Keep a distance between the downlight and the ceiling fan.
