The prostate gland is a small gland, the size of a walnut, located in the pelvic region and responsible for the production and storage of part of the seminal fluid (which protects the sperm cells produced in the testicles). The gland is located near the rectum – the final part of the large intestine, before the anus, and it envelops the urethra tube through which the urine flows and is emitted by the sperm.
