The Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute was established in 1972 in the Education Services Market of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It has graduated more than 29500 highly qualified medical practitioners since its inception. The university is located in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.

Due to the shortage of pediatricians in the region and the high infant mortality rate in the region, the main objective of the organization was to train highly qualified physicians and pediatricians. Renamed Tashkent Pediatric Institute in 1989 by the Uzbek Ministry of Health. For many years pediatrics has been the main center of the university. The Faculty of Pediatrics, Pediatrics, Medical Biology and Medical Education and Medicine programs cover the program. Many departments offer courses for each teacher. Students interested in pursuing a PhD can apply for two PhD programs. Many advanced medical courses are offered at the university for government and private sector employees.

It actively participates in exchange programs and seeks to maintain good relations with international organizations. It is affiliated with several universities in South Korea and Russia.
