What Makes Muskoka So Special?
First and foremost, why go to Muskoka in the winter? The District Municipality of Muskoka, or Muskoka as it is more often known, is a cottage country in Ontario. Due to the magnificent location of the Muskoka and its holiday resorts in the Canadian Shield, it stands between Algonquin Provincial Park and Georgian Bay and is home to approximately 1,600 lakes.
The Muskoka district is made up of three major towns: Bracebridge to the middle, Gravenhurst to the south, and Huntsville to the north. The Best resorts in Muskoka is only two hours north of Toronto and has been named the best summer excursion in the world by National Geographic.

All this implies, though, is that you must be prepared. If you're driving, you'll need winter tires, preferably four-wheel drive. You should also dress warmly with many layers.
Where Should You Stay in Muskoka During the Winter?
The Best resorts Muskoka offers a wide range of activities. There are literally hundreds of hotels, motels, inns, resorts, campers, cabins, cottages, and other lodging options.
I was hosted by Garth and Rebecca at their gorgeous Airbnb house in Huntsville, the Wolegib Modern Waterfront Retreat, to enjoy the complete Muskoka experience. This three-bedroom cottage is located directly on the Muskoka River and gives the impression of being in a peaceful and relaxing setting. On its own three-acre site, this modern cottage is only a few minutes from downtown Huntsville and seems like a small slice of paradise in the winter.
Inside, there are heavenly mattresses, a wide sectional couch that surrounds a wood-burning fireplace, and large windows that allow you to view the snowfall from the comfort of your own home. There's an entertainment room downstairs with loads of games! So it is the perfect location for you, and your friends and family to enjoy the winter together.
