Its selfie camera is 13 megapixels. I took a couple of pictures with it and I found them to be quite good. Its main camera takes good pictures with fairly good dynamic range, colors appear natural and contrast is good. You're able to take higher resolution photos when you enable the 48-megapixel mode. You will get more detailed photos you can crop in and still have it sharp enough. The 48-megapixel photos are significantly larger. Portrait shots from its rear camera look sharp with good background blur and subject separation. Its 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera has 123 degrees field of view enough to take wider shots which looks decent. With the 2 megapixels macro camera, you can take some close-up macro shots but as expected of a 2mp macro lens, decent but not exceptional. There's night mode which gives you better photos at night.

It does well enough to keep the subject in focus and separated from the background. With Optical Image Stabilization the main camera of the Samsung  Galaxy A22 can give you steady footage when handheld. It shoots 1080p videos from its selfie and rear cameras. You'll find the rear camera footage to be pretty stable.
