Eicher Motors announced that its Royal Enfield motorcycle unit has begun operations at its exclusive local assembly unit in Thailand.

Royal Enfield now has three CKD units in Argentina, Colombia, and Colombia in Latin America. They also have Thailand, in addition to three manufacturing plants in Chennai, India.

This assembly unit will not only cater to Thai consumers, but also act as a distribution center for all countries in South-East Asia (including Vietnam, Indonesia, and others).

The facility will begin local assembly of the Himalayan and Interceptor 650 models. It will also start production this month.

He stated that Royal Enfield had been hard at work to expand and grow the middleweight motorcycling market globally. We have pursued our plans to establish local assembly units in priority markets in order to grow the business, and to cater to growing demand. This began with Argentina in 2020, and continued with Colombia earlier in the year. We are pleased to announce that the CKD assembly plant in Thailand has been opened. This is a milestone in our journey to Asia Pacific.

Consolidated Eicher Motors' net income jumped 8.7% to R 373.20 Crore on 4.94% growth in net sales to Rs 2216.40 Cr in Q2FY21 compared to Q2FY20.
