Chances are you will only move a few times in your life, but choosing the wrong movers and packers in Discovery garden can turn the experience into an unforgettable nightmare. There are many moving companies, so how do you tell the difference between a professional and a non-professional? You should interview several companies and get a few quotes to compare.

Here are some tips on how to make sure you choose a quality company.
Check their website.  A reputable company should have an active website where you can learn all about it, its services, and probably read reviews.  Flip through the website, click through the different pages, and look at their pictures.

Check out their reviews. Checking reviews on Google is one of my favorite sites because the company can't add, change or delete reviews.  You can also see if the company has a Google or Facebook presence and see more reviews there. See how far back in time those reviews go. This will give you an idea of how long the company has been around. Ask friends and family.

Chances are you know someone who has moved or used a moving

company in the last few years.  What was their experience like?  Who did they contact?  Check out their recent reviews.
Talk to a real estate agent. No one deals with moving companies more than real estate agents, and you're probably working with them right now. Ask for their advice.  Who have they worked with in the past?  They probably have two or three suggestions for you.

Ask for a quote. Be sure to get several quotes so you can compare prices.

An in-home estimate is the most accurate way to get a moving quote.  Most quotes will be within 10 to 20 percent of each other.  This is your chance to talk to the movers.  Ask all the questions and make sure you get satisfactory answers.  Don't choose the lowest offer.  Use the company that you think will best meet your needs and that you will feel comfortable with.
Are they insured?  Ask to see a certificate of insurance.  This is the first sign that you are dealing with a professional company.  Everyone will say, "We are insured."

You NEED to see that certificate.

Ask for recent references.  Ask to speak to people who have had a move of the same magnitude as yours.  If a company has successfully moved a 1-bedroom apartment, that doesn't mean it will work for your 5-bedroom home. Choose a moving company that you think is right for you and call them first. This will save you the time you will spend getting recommendations from a company you are unlikely to use.

Listen up!!!  Can this company help you with everything you need?

Point out what you might be concerned about and ask how they will handle it.  Do they offer packing services?  Can they help you get rid of things you don't want to move?  Make sure you get answers that you are completely comfortable with.  You should feel comfortable with the person in your home.  Not as if you are just being sold something.
