What are the signs of diabetes?

(1) Insulin-dependent diabetes, most frequent in children and young adults, is characterized by the sudden appearance of:
a)  Constant urination
b)  Abnormal thirst
c)  Unusual hunger
d)  The rapid loss of weight
e)  Irritability
f)  Obvious weakness and fatigue
g)  Nausea and vomiting

(2) Non-insulin-dependent diabetes usually occurs after the age of 30. It may include any of the previously mentioned signs or:

  1. a) Drowsiness
    b) Itching
    c) A family history of diabetes
    d) Blurred vision

    f) Tingling numbness in feet
    g) Easy fatigue
    h) Skin infections and slow healing

 If there is a substantial growth in the appetite then these are the indications of the advent of the problem. The eating patterns are changed and there is a lack of control on the diet.

Fatigue and infection:

 The patients suffering from diabetes have a problem with the resistance of stamina. They get fatigue even after a small physically exerting work. Diabetes also influences the healing of the infections and there is a delay in this procedure.

Visionary defects:

 Diabetes affects the eyesight as there are a lot of deficiencies like the blurred vision and in some cases there is a problem of loss of sight also.
